Let's plant a park — 09.11.24

Marking a successful tree planting on 9 November in the “Levski G” neighbourhood!
Thanks to our joint effort and the enthusiasm of 25 volunteers and 7 little helpers, we planted 45 large saplings — chestnuts, sycamores and catalpas — that will enrich the area for generations to come.
Thank you to the mayor of Poduyane district, Kristian Hristov, who not only supported us on the ground, but also listened to the residents of the building who said they wanted more green spaces. Thanks also to the deputy mayor for environmental issues, Mr Andrea Pandulis, for helping with the organisation, and to the landscape architects of Poduyane district, who backed us up with advice and professional guidance.
A special thank you to Nikolay Grozdanov for his huge contribution — he gave up his entire Friday to prepare the site, digging the planting holes free of charge. We're grateful too to the Gerena State Forest Nursery in Elin Pelin for the partnership and for the high-quality saplings they provided on special terms. And thank you to our partners at Save Soil for their valuable support and cooperation in this green mission.

The benefits of urban tree planting are priceless. Trees absorb up to 150 kg of carbon dioxide a year and filter out pollutants like dust and nitrogen oxides, which improves air quality. Greenery cools the temperature by up to 3°C in summer and provides natural shade, making the urban environment healthier and more comfortable.
