"Christmas Light for Children's Smiles 2025": a confident start and a real festive meeting in Borovan

At the end of 2025, Surya Foundation ran the charity campaign "Christmas Light for Children's Smiles", aimed at supporting children from families with limited means in the village of Borovan. The goal was simple: every child should have the school supplies they need and start the new school year with confidence and motivation.
Through the campaign we provided backpacks, notebooks, paints, coloured pencils, felt-tips, drawing pads and pencil cases stocked with all the basic school supplies, plus something sweet, for 157 children from the "Masha Belmustakova" Centre for Personal Development Support. For many of them, it's not just a set of supplies — it's a sign that their effort matters and that someone believes in them.
As we do every year, the Surya Foundation team visited the children in Borovan in person during the Christmas holidays. The meeting turned into a real celebration — the children greeted us with a specially prepared programme of songs, dances and recitals, performed with excitement, care and joy. Moments like these reminded us once again why being there in person, and the human connection it brings, are such an important part of what we do.
The campaign was made possible thanks to donors who believed that small gestures can carry great meaning, and that supporting a child's education is one of the most meaningful acts of charity. Every donation, every share and every helping hand made Christmas 2025 brighter for the children in Borovan.
