"Christmas Gifts That Matter" 2025: warmth, care and personal attention for people in need

In December 2025, Surya Foundation ran the charity campaign "Christmas Gifts That Matter" — an initiative that puts personal attention and human care at the heart of Christmas giving.
The campaign gave anyone who wanted to take part the chance to make a concrete, personal gesture by providing a warm winter set — a scarf, hat and gloves — for a child or adult in need. This approach turned every donation into something thoughtful and personal — a sign that on the other end there's a real person who hasn't been forgotten.
Through the campaign, warm sets and other gifts were provided for:
• 20 children and adults placed at the Crisis Centre for adults in Veliko Tarnovo and the Crisis Centre for children — victims of trafficking or violence — in the village of Balvan. • 30 adults with severe mobility difficulties living at the home for people with physical disabilities in the village of Slivek, Lovech municipality.
Donors joined in lots of different ways — by buying a personal gift, by giving financially, by sharing the campaign or by organising small initiatives within their own teams and communities. Every gesture helped more people receive not just winter essentials, but a sign of attention and respect.
"Christmas Gifts That Matter 2025" showed that sometimes what counts most isn't the value of the gift, but the message it carries. A personal gift becomes a symbol of humanity, support and hope.
