A space to gather and grow: building a gazebo at the family-type care home for children in Borovan

About this cause

We're building a sturdy wooden gazebo with a roof, benches and a table in the yard of the family-type care homes for children without disabilities in Borovan. The idea is for it to become a natural extension of the home — an outdoor space, but within the safe environment of the centre.
There, among the flowers, fruit trees and carefully tended yard, 20 children find calm, safety and a chance to grow up carefree, as much as that's possible for them.

• to spend more time in fresh air in a safe and cosy setting; • to take part in hands-on and educational outdoor activities; • to play, learn and spend time together; • to hold meetings, sessions and group activities with specialists; • to build social skills through shared activities and experiences.
For many of these children, the yard is one of the few places where they feel calm and accepted. Creating a comfortable outdoor space encourages movement, connection and a sense of belonging. These are key factors for their emotional development and self-confidence.
The gazebo will be used every day. Lessons, creative sessions, board games, celebrations and meetings will happen there. It will be a place to work in the garden, to talk and to rest in the shade on warm days. It's a small investment with a long-lasting impact on the quality of the children's lives.

There are currently 20 children living at the family-type care homes for children without disabilities in Borovan, with the service's capacity at 24. It's where they grow up, learn to be independent and build life skills until they come of age or find a permanent family.
The centres are housed in the building of a former kindergarten. Both the building and the yard are currently undergoing a full renovation to create a safe, cosy and calm environment, close to a real family home.
Every bit of support brings us closer to creating a place that will bring joy, calm and opportunities to grow for dozens of children for years to come.
Together we can turn the yard into a space for growth, friendship and new dreams.
Administrative fee: 7% of the donated amount goes towards covering Surya Foundation's administrative costs, which ensure the effective management and transparency of the campaign.
