Clothes and toys for children and adults in crisis centres

About this cause

The Surya Foundation is joining the drive started by our volunteer Nadin Hasan — the first person to register on the Surya site — to collect clothes and children's toys for crisis centres in Bulgaria. Special thanks to Nadin, who has organised this drive among her friends before, and this time invited the foundation to take part in collecting, sorting and distributing the donations to three crisis centres we work with: the crisis centre in the village of Balvan, the crisis centre on Tsvetarska Street in Veliko Tarnovo, and the crisis centre for adults in Veliko Tarnovo.

What are we aiming for? Through a community of well-meaning friends we will collect new or well-preserved clothes, shoes and accessories for children and adults of every age, plus toys for the children in the centres. Everything collected will be checked, sorted and packed by age, gender and season, and distributed according to each centre's needs.

Why does it matter? When we give clothes and toys, we help people in need and give the items themselves a second life, sparing the environment along the way. Every donated piece of clothing or toy brings a little joy and light into someone's hard day.
