A colourful world for people with disabilities

About this cause

Surya Foundation is launching a new charity initiative — "A colourful world for people with disabilities" — aimed at bringing more colour, joy and opportunities into the daily lives of the adults with disabilities at the "Sveta Marina" Day Centre.

Refreshing and painting the fence. The "Sveta Marina" Centre's fence hasn't been refreshed in years, and the centre doesn't have the budget or resources needed to take care of it. The fence is a full 252 m long and 1.6 m tall. By painting it, we'll create a more welcoming, safer and more attractive space for the people who use the centre and their families. And we'll make this little bit of magic happen with the help of big-hearted volunteers.
A beautiful, clean environment has a proven positive effect on the emotional state and sense of dignity of people with disabilities, and it also shows that the community cares and accepts them as an integral part of society.

Trips and educational outings are incredibly valuable for people with disabilities. Not only do they offer new experiences and knowledge, they also stimulate the development of cognitive skills, social communication and independence. Experiences like these support emotional wellbeing, build confidence and bring a sense of belonging and joy — a feeling that's often missing from the everyday life of people with disabilities.
