Creating outdoor sports areas for recovery and active living at the "Tarnovgrad" Crisis Centre in Veliko Tarnovo
With this campaign, we'll build two outdoor sports areas in the yards of the houses at the "Tarnovgrad" Crisis Centre for adults in Veliko Tarnovo.

About this cause
With this campaign, we'll build two outdoor sports areas in the yards of the houses at the "Tarnovgrad" Crisis Centre for adults in Veliko Tarnovo. With the right sports equipment, we'll give the children and adults staying there the chance to be physically active in a safe and protected environment.
There are already sturdy table tennis tables set up in the centre's yards. But to encourage regular movement and active use of time, the space needs more options for sport, play and releasing tension.
The planned equipment will create an accessible and varied environment for movement and activity:
badminton set – 2
portable basketball hoop – 2
footballs – 6
basketballs – 4
ping-pong balls – 72
sets of table tennis bats – 2
folding exercise trampoline (Ø 101 cm)
outdoor trampoline with safety net – 2
garden swings – 2
These areas will allow both organised sessions and free play, individual exercise and group activities.
The crisis centre provides protection and support for children and adults who have lived through domestic violence, human trafficking and other severe traumatic events. In this context, physical activity is an important part of the recovery process.
The people staying at the centre's houses often lead a more isolated life and, for safety reasons, have limited access to environments outside the service. That's why the yard becomes the main space for movement, social contact and emotional release.
Regular physical activity supports: • physical health and overall energy • reducing stress and anxiety • building confidence and self-control • developing social skills and teamwork • a sense of normality and safety through play and movement
Sport creates a natural environment where recovery happens gradually and without pressure — through movement, play and shared experiences.
Building the outdoor sports areas will give a lasting opportunity for an active, healthy lifestyle to dozens of children and adults going through one of the hardest periods of their lives.
With your support, the yard of the crisis centre can become a place for movement, recovery and calm. A place where play brings back the feeling of childhood, and sport helps build confidence and strength.
Every donation is a step towards creating an environment that supports people in their recovery.
Administrative fee:
7% of the donated amount goes towards covering Surya Foundation's administrative costs, which ensure the effective management and transparency of the campaign.
